Acupuncture for plantar fasciitis and foot pain
Relief for heel and arch pain from an overworked plantar fascia, plus other foot and toe pain.
Plantar fasciitis and many kinds of foot pain come from strain or overuse of the connective tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. This band of tissue is called the plantar fascia. Plantar fasciitis is a painful inflammation of that tissue.
Common causes
Plantar fasciitis is most often linked to overuse. Running, hiking and backpacking are common culprits, and so is a lot of walking. Tight Achilles tendons can also contribute.
How acupuncture can help
Robert places fine needles in the affected area to help reduce pain and inflammation. Acupuncture can help with plantar fasciitis as well as many other common kinds of foot and toe pain.
Many patients notice real improvement over a series of five to ten acupuncture sessions.
Along with treating the foot directly, Robert practices Toyohari, a Japanese style of acupuncture. It uses careful pulse reading, very fine needles and gentle contact to guide treatment of the whole person.
Foot and ankle problems often go together. You may also want to read about ankle sprains and sports injuries.
